artist in residence, projectionist, lighting designer, occasional rigger
From August of 2021 until April of 2022 Ian Gold and I performed a creative residency at Darius Alexander's monthly party, Disco Heaven. Having joined the production early in the party's life, we were able play a big role in crafting its aesthetic, combining 1990's MTV's analog video crunch with the grimy glamor of 1970's Studio 54 film photography, wrapped together in psychedelia inspired by contemporary rave culture. For each party we would bring a bespoke visuals package with fresh iconography, colors, archival materials, and animated text. By maintaining and performing on 30+ year old VCR's, video mixers, and camcorders, combined with modern day HD digital processing and conversion, we were able to bring an authentic vintage look to our work without comprising the reliability our live performance.
