In preparing the 2023 SFX package for our logo animation at MKBHD, I wanted to simultaneously distill everything that makes Marques himself, while also breathing a new sonic life into the brand. I decided to call back to classic MKBHD sound effects packages using the sounds of camera shutters, digital glitches, and mechanical keyboard strikes, and combined it with classic cartoon sounds and vinyl scratches to inject a sense of fun and goofiness that pervades the studio environment. After throwing in some low end sweeteners and using binaural panning to track the individual objects, as well as making sure the whole package flows with multiple BPM's and keys of library tracks, I felt really proud of my work on this intro (and can't wait to top it next year).
