#PhillyBeatz is a collection of project based curricula for middle and elementary schools ranging from 2-6 weeks, which encourages students to celebrate creativity, technology, media literacy, and themselves. Initially brought on as technology specialist to work on the test run of the course, I was eventually promoted all the way to being the lead curriculum designer of the entire program, crafting both the lessons themselves, as well as the technical guide for teachers.
After finishing my time as curriculum designer for the Kimmel, I was contracted to produce a virtual field trip for students in #PhillyBeatz. A large part of my responsibilities involved fostering "collaborations" between students in the program and professional musicians, dancers, and poets. This meant editing, mixing, and mastering a 5th graders music to a commercial grade, while also preserving the qualities inherent to art made by a child, which was one of the most fun creative challenges of my career.
